Queniborough Dovecote

no responses

I’ve photographed this dovecote at Queniborough Hall, Croxton Road, Queniborough before, but today with the clear blue sky, lush spring grass and the vivid orange of the brick it just jumped out at me. I took three rapid and auto-bracked RAW images with my Lumix DMC-L1 and processed them with Dynamic Photo HDR, Lightroom and finally Photoshop. I’ve probably overdone the vivid colours a bit, but that’s to make sure that when you click and bring up the larger image, you get a real feeling of being there standing next to me.

The red brick dovecote is dated 1705. Originally a listed building was dismantled and rebuilt on its new site within the grounds of Queniborough Hall in the 1980′s. It has a Swithland slate pitched roof with pitched dormer.
