I have always stressed to my customers the importance of regularly backing up the data on their office computer. I know this has saved several people the great expense of paying for specialist disk recovery to save valuable business information after their computers failed. Now it’s time to take your website just as seriously.
Your website lives with thousands of others in a huge data centre. Information is stored on disks similar to those on a home computer. Not only may a web server be subject to hard disk failure, but, being permanently connected to the internet it is also under constant threat from hacker attacks.
The loss of all or part of your website could wipe out much of the effort we have put in to building your web presence. I have therefore decided to offer customers a comprehensive, automatic and secure backup solution for their website – which includes the WordPress database files which contain all the settings and the entire text content.
The website backup service makes a copy of your entire site automatically once every 48 hours and sends it across the internet to a remote and secure server which stores the last 3 backups. If anything should go wrong with your website, I can restore your site from backup in less than an hour.
This backup service is completely independent of any measures your website hosting company may have in place. It also has the great advantage that if for any reason it was necessary to move your site to another hosting company, we would have all the files needed to set up your site again without negotiating the move with the outgoing company.
The backup service costs £35 per site per year (no VAT)
